Before applying to the program and paying any fees or deposits, please review our Pre-College Health and Safety Protocols. Your application to our pre-college program indicates your agreement with these health and safety protocols. You will also sign an agreement to these protocols upon acceptance into our program.
COVID-19 Positive or Other Serious Illness or Injury Protocol
We strongly encourage that participants are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including appropriate booster doses, as defined by the CDC, before arriving on campus for program participation. We are not requiring proof of vaccination to participate in our summer 2024 programs. You can view the current COVID-19 College policies here. The College does not offer isolation or treatment services for COVID-19. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, they will be required to isolate. People who are isolated must remain separated from others for a minimum of 5 days since symptoms first appeared and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and with improvements of any other symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath). Isolation must occur under the supervision of a parent/guardian at home or off campus. The College cannot provide isolation facilities or supervision.
The College will arrange for appropriate medical care and monitoring of your child in the case of a COVID-19 positive test or other serious injury or illness that may occur during the program. You are required to retrieve your child within 24 hours of notice by the college should such an incident occur. Please carefully consider this as a possibility prior to enrolling your child in a summer program at Ithaca College and have a plan to retrieve your child if needed.
If you do not retrieve your child within 24 hours after notice by the college, you will be charged a fee of $250 per day, subject to further charges for any additional required support services or resources.
Costs of Medical Care Services
If your child requires urgent medical care services, Cayuga Health at Ithaca College Student Health Services will provide treatment for acute illness and injuries. Student Health Services is open Monday-Thursday 9 am-3 pm. If your child needs urgent medical services outside of this period, Ithaca College staff will make arrangements for transportation to a local urgent care center or Cayuga Medical Center.
Student Health Services can provide services to individuals ages 12 – 23. Many laboratory tests are offered on-campus and we work closely with local off-campus laboratories where additional tests are processed. If your child requires more intensive care, transport to Cayuga Medical Center will be arranged via ambulance at your cost.
We partner with an off-site pharmacy to have prescriptions delivered to Student Health Services if needed. Some over-the-counter medications are available for purchase at Student Health Services with parental or legal guardian consent. Participants must have a form of payment for prescriptions or over-the-counter medications.
Your child’s insurance will be billed in the same manner as when you visit your primary care provider. Therefore, you will be responsible for copayments and deductibles for office visits and labs similar to what you experience at home. Please contact your insurance company for any questions you may have. Billing assistance is offered by Cayuga Medical Associates. It is important to know if our Student Health Services participates with your insurance company to differentiate “in-network” charges from “out-of-network" charges. It will also be important to understand your deductible.

College Academic Credit
If your child must be absent from classes for more than 2 days, and given the short duration of the program, your child may not be able to satisfy the requirements for college credit. If they are medically eligible and choose to return to the program, they may have limited participation in program activities but will not receive course credit.
Refunds
Refunds are not issued for any program fees, housing, board, travel costs, or other expenses due to a COVID-19 positive test, other serious illness or injury, or removal from program due to violation of the student conduct code.
