The Quiet Study community is designed for students who prefer a quiet environment where they can live and study. The Quiet Study community is currently located in the Terraces. Students living in the Quiet Study community abide by quiet hours every night from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This extends traditional quiet hours 2-5 hours a night. The Quiet Study community is a specialty area and requires students to apply to the community in order to live on the floor.
Quiet Study Community
Each residence hall/apartment area is encouraged to discuss quiet hours at the beginning of the year to make studying easier. Although quiet hours begin in the evening, students need to be considerate of their neighbors at all times, especially when using stereos, radios, and televisions. Noise levels should be kept low, particularly during the early-morning and late-night hours.
Mandatory quiet hours in all residence halls:
- Sunday through Thursday: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
- Friday and Saturday nights: 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM
- During final exam week: Extended quiet hours, as posted.
Location: Terrace 5, 3rd floor – where first-year and upper year students live in the same community
Population: All students
Room Styles: Doubles & Singles on a gender-neutral floor
