Greetings:
After a long summer break everyone is back and ready to go at the Ithaca College School of Business. Although I was unable to secure an internship over the summer, the opportunity arose to take summer classes.
I enrolled for summer classes at the University at Buffalo, taking classes in Macroeconomic theory and Principles of Marketing. These courses help me pursue my goal of a double major, but proved to give me insight as to how other schools operate.
The experience made me miss IC and our prestigious "B-School." Our institution offers the best of the best in business academia, providing unparallel opportunities and lessons in a college setting.
So if you haven't checked out what we have to offer, do so before deciding to go elsewhere.
Yours Truly,
Jeff

Hello Everyone!
As Spring Break has finally come to an end, we find ourselves tyring to get back into the swing of the old routine. With midterms completed, we only have six weeks until finals!! Professor Libby's Financial Accounting classes have been busy working on team projects that have been very challenging but in the end benificial. It is only the beginning of week 2 after spring break, and I find myself still day-dreaming of relaxing on break. It will be tough, but we need to shake it off and get back to business; it will be summer before you know it!!
Have a Great one,

Okay, I know, I get the award for worst blogger ever. It’s so hard to write about life when I am so busy living it!! Last time I wrote it was the week before Spring break. Well we are now almost done the week after Spring break. This just means I have more things to talk about!
My New Orleans trip is less than 2 weeks away!!! EEK!! I am getting so excited! The American Marketing Association holds its national conference in April and this year its in New Orleans. I have been to NOLA before but am super stoked to be heading back there. The city is so rich with culture that it always provides a great time. Plus the conference is going to host some awesome speakers such as the director of marketing for the NBA Miami Heat. Being a sports fan this is really excites me! Last year I went to New Orleans for Habitat for Humanity. We drove down the last week of our winter break and helped build houses for a week. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. It feels so great to give back to the community and help out people who appreciate everything we are doing.
Last week was Spring break. Many people went away on vacation and came back with tans and stories. I chose to go home and have some down time. The semester is only half over and I needed time to recharge my battery and finish the semester strong. I also got to see my boyfriend and family which was great as well.
Getting back to my house on Sunday night and looking at all the stuff I had coming up, I got severely overwhelmed. It seems this semester that all my assignments and test fall at the same time. Next week I have two papers due and three tests! Life never slows down, but that’s okay. I take everything with stride and conquer one task at a time
Well, for now I need to get packing for the weekend. I am heading to Syracuse to celebrate Easter with my Aunt and Uncle.
Have a great one!

Hey all, its Jeff again. I have been MIA for some time due to spring break and all the planning that went into just a week! It is good to be back at IC, although the weather could be a little better, after all it is supposed to be spring.
For this post, I thought it would be appropriate to remind everyone of the opportunities here at Ithaca College that also might make you think about everyday chances in your own life. At the school of business, where one of the first ever student-run investment clubs was born, is some of the best technology, facilities, and training of any college campus. From Thomson One Portfolio Manager that is used on Wall Street to a student staff that runs and educates students, parents, alumni about our facilities, the Trading Room remains one of the school's most prized assets. Imagine, receiving data and news instantly, without a delay like most every institution's investment clubs do. The same time as the 'busy brokers' on Wall Street. Don't imagine to long because you can check it out yourself in the Ithaca College School of Business Trading Room. Wow!
Life is packed with meetings, classes, hanging out with friends, but be mindful of the present opportunities right here at IC. Having access to such great facilities, student support, and technology is impressive. Take some time to mull this blog or sit in (might have to stand) on an Investment Club meeting every Tuesday at 12:10 in the Trading Room.
So long for now, happy trails.

Hey all- Asaf here again.
I’ve been thinking recently about how I was first introduced to the whole ‘sustainability craze’. I remember my parents always trying to do things more sustainable. I never fully grasped why they would look into buying a hybrid car or use reusable grocery bags however. It wasn’t until I arrived at Ithaca College and heard the plans for a new business building with sustainability in mind that I fully understood why it was so important. I think a major hidden benefit of this building, and LEED certification in general, is that it works as an eye opener. If the general public sees that Colleges and Fortune 500 companies are putting millions into making their buildings sustainable, they will finally realize this is a serious issue we are dealing with.
The reason this was on my mind has do with the alternative spring break program I attended last week in which I was down in New Orleans gutting and rebuilding houses. Beyond being a moving experience in which I was able to view the carnage first hand and hear the horror stories of survivors it was amazing to see the potential the city has for being rebuilt. I cannot tell you how many different organizations and companies with the goal or rebuilding have ‘for a sustainable New Orleans’ somewhere in their mission statements. A perfect example of this are the 150 houses Brad Pitt is building in the Lower 9th Ward (the hardest hit area) which are made to be completely sustainable. All of these organizations and companies building with sustainability in mind will have an impact on everyone that occupies, uses daily, or even drives past them on their morning commutes. This trickle down effect has impacted me and gotten me involved in the sustainability movement I am certain will have an effect on countless more people.
