Please allow at least two and a half hours on Commencement morning for local traveling to campus, parking, and walking to Butterfield Stadium. Parking is allowed on campus in any of the legal spaces and as directed by the Office of Public Safety. Additional parking is available across Route 96B at the South Hill Business Campus parking lots.
Shuttles will be available throughout the day for rides to and from the Commencement ceremony and the various receptions. Shuttle stops are conveniently located around campus near all the parking areas and signs will be posted for easy identification of the shuttle stops.
Questions regarding parking and special seating for persons with disabilities should be directed to the Office of Public Safety at 607-274-3756.
A special seating section may be used by individuals who, due to health or mobility impairment or other disabling conditions, cannot or should not walk from the parking lot to the stadium seating. Those guests may be driven to an area near the special seating gate where they can be dropped off and assisted to the seating area by a companion or by College personnel, if necessary. Because of space limitations, only one guest may accompany each disabled individual.
Guests using special seating should be aware that they may experience a delay in getting off the field after Commencement. Arrangements for special seating must be made by the Friday immediately preceding Commencement.
A sign language interpreter will be available in the special seating section.
As an alternative to special seating, some guests may wish to view the ceremony on television at locations across campus or on local cable from their hotel rooms. More details about this alternative will be available in the spring semester.
For further information on special seating, please contact the Office of Public Safety at 607-274-3756, weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
