Friends Annual Holiday Dinner 2008

The Friends of Ithaca College rang in the holidays at their recent annual holiday dinner and business meeting. President Tom Rochon spoke to the Friends about the importance of their support and briefed the group on some of the latest accomplishments at the College. Former Friends president Loren Colbert '78 passed the baton to new president Joe Metz and welcomed Beverly Hartz to the Friends Executive Committee. A highlight of the evening was hearing from Katie Fowler '11 about the difference a Friends scholarship has made in her life. And Greg Woodward, dean of the School of Music, spoke of recent accomplishments within the school and kicked off the musical portion of the evening with performances by the all-faculty Ithaca Brass and the Ithaca College Madrigal Singers. When the Ithaca College Jazz Workshop Big Band hit the stage, the Friends headed onto the dance floor, and the evening concluded with dancing and a great deal of holiday merriment.
