EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Masaryk University
Masaryk University is located in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic. The University is a comprehensive one composed of seven schools and 14,000 students, with degrees offered in law, medicine, and education, as well as in the humanities and social sciences. Ithaca College students can choose from two different programs at Masaryk University. These programs are:

 

- Central European Studies
Consists of twelve credits in the history and culture of the region.

- TESOL training program
(TESOL=Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Upon completion of this one semester program, students will receive the internationally recognized RSA/Cambridge certificate in ESL instruction. If you are interested in teaching English abroad, this is the program for you!


At Masaryk University, students will live in University residence halls.

As with all Ithaca College exchange programs:

  • Tuition will be paid to Ithaca College
  • State, federal and institutional financial aid may be applied to the program cost, though actual aid amounts will be re-evaluated based upon actual program expenses.
  • Credits earned abroad are guaranteed to transfer back to Ithaca College, and grades received will be calculated in cumulative GPA.
  • A leave of absence is not required – students remain active Ithaca College students while abroad on an exchange program.
  • Housing will be provided either in residence halls or in off-campus apartments, depending upon location and availability
  • Meal plans are not available, but students will have access to kitchen facilities, cafeterias and restaurants.
