SENEGAL: SPRING SEMESTER OF FULL

NOTE: THIS PROGRAM IS NO LONGER RUNNING AS AN "ITHACA PROGRAM" BUT AS AN AFFILIATE.
This Hamline University program enrolls exchange students alongside Senagalese students at the University Gaston Berger in Saint Louis. Students will begin learning the local African language, Wolof, in addition to taking courses selected from the following departments at the University: African Literature, French Literature, Comparative Literature, Economics, Geography, History, Law, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology. All courses are taught in French, and students must have intermediate or advanced French language skills. There will be three organized excursions during the semester, which will include the area in and around Saint Louis, a day at Djoudj, and four days in Nokolokoba, a wild game refuge.

This program is a featured program of the ANACSA (Associated New American Colleges Study Abroad) consortium of which Ithaca College is a member. ANAC Institutions are small to mid-sized comprehensive colleges and universities dedicated to the integration of liberal and professional studies. ANACSA provides interdisciplinary programs that are designed to combine classroom, travel and community-based learning experiences.
As a participant on an ANACSA program, you will remain enrolled at Ithaca College. You will recieve credit for all courses taken and grades will be transferred back and incorporated into your GPA. Financial aid will also be applied to program costs.
