Contribute to the new Scholarship for International Students!
Ithaca College has just created a new scholarship for international students. The John E. Keshishoglou Scholarship for International Students is a newly endowed fund, to be awarded to an international student with academic excellence and demonstrated financial need and will see its first recipient in the fall of 2004.

The Keshishoglou Fund in Global Communications, established in 2000, provided the resources to create this scholarship. It was initiated by faculty in the Park School and assisted with gifts from faculty, friends, and professor emeritus Keshishoglou. An additional fund has also been designated: the Keshishoglou Fund for International Scholars.
It will provide expenses and/or honorariums for visiting international lecturers, professors, or scholars.

Prof. Keshishoglou came to the College in 1965 as chairman of the Department of Television-Radio and director of the Instructional Resources Center. During his time at the College, Keshishoglou served as the founding dean for the School of Communications from 1971 to 1979. He also developed the international exchange program between the school and
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

The Office of International Programs and student leaders representing the international student clubs will continue to work toward enlarging the endowment for this new scholarship. They welcome gifts from students, alumni, and all members of the Ithaca College community. Anyone interested in supporting this fund may contact Elayne Nicholas, associate director of special programs, 607-274-1286 or enicholas@ithaca.edu.

All gifts will be acknowledged and a tax receipt given.

Dear study abroad alums,

The Office of International Programs welcomes you back from study abroad! We hope that your time overseas enabled you to grow personally and intellectually, develop new friendships, learn about another culture, discover new interests and travel to other countries. We encourage you to think of your study abroad experience as the beginning of a life-long global journey. However, you will also need to think about your return to Ithaca College. The resources on this page were designed to help you face the academic and non-academic issues that often accompany the process of readjusting to life at IC.

Study Abroad Ambassador program

We hope that your study abroad experience has inspired you to encourage other IC students to go abroad! If you would like an opportunity to share your overseas experiences and stories with other students, you should become a Study Abroad Ambassador. The Ambassadors are returned study abroad students who are involved in helping with peer advising, study abroad information sessions, orientations and other events that promote study abroad on campus. Serving as an ambassador requires only a minimal time commitment, but it will allow you to talk about your experiences with an interested audience and meet others who have studied abroad. If you are interested in becoming a Study Abroad Ambassador, please complete the Ambassador application and return to the Office of International Programs.
