About the SGA
The Student Government Association is, at its core, the representative body of IC students. We function as a liaison between the Student Body and the Administration. When the Administration is seeking the opinions of students in order to make an important decision about how our institution is run, they turn to the SGA.
But there's much more to the SGA than that. We make formal recommendations to the Administration based on things we have been hearing from our peers. So not only is the Administration turning to us to hear an opinion, but we are also taking your views and your perspectives directly to them for consideration.
The senate is comprised of 24 voting members: four senators from each class, one from each of the six academic schools, a transfer senator, and a graduate senator. The day-to-day functions of the organization are overseen by the Executive Board, comprised of the Student Body President, VP of Academics, VP of Business & Finance, VP of Campus Affairs, and VP of Communications. The Student Trustee also sits on the Executive Board, as well as the Student Director of the Alumni Board.
Meetings are held every Tuesday night in the Taughannock Falls meeting room on the third floor of Campus Center. They begin at 8:15pm and are open to the public.
