First Shuttle Proposal of Fall Semester Next Week
Just a heads up that I will be presenting, on behalf of SGA, a redesigned shuttle proposal next Tuesday night (the 27th) at 7pm in the Circles Community Center. The brief presentation is part of the monthly community meeting program put on by the Circles RA staff.
After meeting with TCAT a few weeks back I am currently in the process of redesigning the original proposal to meet the needs of both IC and TCAT.
Interested in learning more? Drop by next Tuesday! The more people the better.

Off-Campus Students
It has come to the attention of the SGA that many of our off-campus students feel picked on or targeted by the local community who live on South Hill. It has come to our attention that many of you have had problems with your landlords and are not sure how to deal with it. SGA has begun an Off-Campus Students Advisory Committee.
This committee will help SGA pin point the main concerns of students who live off-campus and we will bring those concerns to the IC/Community Work Group meetings that we attend. If anyone is interested in being a part of those meetings to voice your own concerns, please contact me cornell.woodson@gmail.com or 607.274.3085. Likewise, if you are interested in being a part of the SGA Off-Campus Students Advisory Committee, please contact me also. I hope to hear from some of you soon.

SGA Fashion/Talent Show
Student Government Association Fashion/Talent Show
Looking for some quality event-planning experience? Looking to have fun while learning some real-life skills?
Then do we have the opportunity for you!
As one of the most anticipated shows on campus, the Fashion Show has all of the flair and forte you would expect from the cache of talent that Ithaca has to offer. In the past, this show has been done in conjunction with the Inside Look program, which is sponsored by the Office of Admission. However, this year we are looking for something different. The show will be sponsored by the Student Government Association and we are looking for some of the best in event planning to help us pull this off.
It is going to take a group of dedicated and professional students to produce a show of this magnitude. If you have an interest in production or a genuine desire to work behind the scenes on the show, then we encourage you to submit this application. Do not feel discouraged if you lack the experience of being a part of a production team. Not only is the show about showcasing the talent of our campus community, but it's also about discovering and cultivating students' untapped skills and getting them involved. The 2009 Fashion/Talent Show production team, in previous years, has consisted of students who began their tenure with rudimentary experience in production and are now running the show. So we encourage you to show us what you are made of.
There are a number of positions available in various capacities. The application is now available in the Student Activities Office, which is located on the third floor of the Campus Center. They are due back by Friday, October 31st at 12 p.m. Please drop off all applications to the Student Activities Center with a copy of your resume; no cover letter needed. Should you have any questions, please contact Cornell Woodson at cornell.woodson@gmail.com. Again, thank you for your interest in the 2009 Fashion/Talent Show and spread the word...it's contagious!

SGA Committees
hi!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. On Saturday, the SGA had its Senate Orientation; it was very successful! One very important thing that we discussed were SGA committees and Campus Wide Committees. Our senators have been assigned to a variety of them, but we are looking for some non-SGA members to sit in on these committees.
As a committee member you have full voting rights and have the opportunity to give great input on decisions that are being made. It is SGA's initiative to get more people involved in the day-to-day management of our college. If anyone is interested in sitting on a committee, please email me for a complete list. I hope to hear from you soon.

Help Improve the SGA!
Hey everyone!
In the last couple of days, SGA has released applications for many of its new internship opportunities. We have also completed our freshman elections and I must say we have some amazing freshman senators! It is my hope that you will all get involved with SGA at some point. So, how can you be a part of the SGA?
If you scan the pages of this website you will find many opportunities to be a part of SGA. This is the year that I hope we can change the image of this organization and create a culture where our campus community feels that they have a group of people who are behind them 100%. Please join me in improving the SGA.
As always, if you ever have anything you want the SGA to know about, please join us on Tuesdays at 8:15 in the Taughannock Falls Meeting Room, stop by our offices on the third floor of the Campus Center, or simply email us. We really want to hear from you!
Check back here regularly to see what updates I will have for you. Much love!

Welcome Back!
Welcome Back Everyone!
Convocation went so well! I was very happy to see so many members of the incoming class attending convocation. Everyone should know that I was EXTREMELY nervous! My hands were shaking as I approached the podium, but once I looked out into the crowd all the nervousness went away.
I hope everyone is ready for an exciting year! The Student Government Association is planning some great things and we hope you will join us in making them happen. Keep checking back here for opportunities to get involved. Also, do not be afraid to just stop by our office. I am looking forward to working for you this year! As always, it is a pleasure serving you all!
