Academic Affairs Goals
The following are the goals for the division of Academic Affairs for the 2009-2010 academic year. Please note that these goals are not in prioritized order.
- Continue implementation of a campus-wide program of student learning assessment in the major that informs curricular and educational decisions and fulfills the expectations of Middle States.
- Continue implementation of a campus-wide program of student learning assessment in general education that informs curricular and educational decisions and fulfills the expectations of Middle States.
- In partnership with the VP of Enrollment, engage in planning and activities that support a stable, appropriate enrollment that supports the comprehensive mission of Ithaca College.
- Move forward on the (IC)2 initiative by:
- Implementing the (IC)2 demonstration projects
- Moving forward to address the (IC)2 enabling actions
- Support the faculty committees reviewing workload, chair load policies, and release time policies, and engage the faculty in evaluation of proposals brought forward by those groups.
- Fulfill the President’s charge to review operations for greater efficiency and for possible cost-saving or re-allocation to better meet critical initiatives.
- Continue to review/refine/revise academic affairs policies and procedures as needed to meet changing needs or to address current policy weaknesses.
- Support faculty teaching and scholarship, including initiating the Faculty Commons.
- Enhance recruitment of outstanding faculty, including faculty from underrepresented groups.
