Information for Student Presenters

Oral Presentations

  • Please check in the lobby of Emerson Suites before your presentation.  If you find yourself in a rush are unable to check in before your presentation, be sure to check in afterwards so that we can find out how it went
  • You should be dressed professionally for your presentation.
  • See below for information about room set up.
  • If you will be using the computer during your presentation, bring your presentation on a flash drive.  Load your presentation on to the desktop of the computer in the room.
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of the session that you are presenting in.
  • Introduce yourself to the faculty moderator.
  • You are expected to sit in the front of room during all of the presentations and stay the entire time that your session meets.  Do not present and then leave.  If you must leave for some reason, you will need to inform the moderator at the start of the session.
  • Be sure to practice your presentation so that you can deliver the information in the designated time frame.  Avoid going overtime so that your session can stay on time.  It is important that the session after you is able to start on time.

Poster Presentations

The poster presentations are divided into a morning session and an afternoon session. 

Morning Session Poster Presentations

  • You must set up your poster no later than 9:00 am (you can begin setting up at 8am)
  • Your poster needs to remain up from 9:00-12:30
  • You will need to be available to answer questions about your poster at your assigned time (contact Hillary Barrett for more information)
  • You need to take down your poster at 12:30 pm

Afternoon Session Poster Presentations

  • You must set up your poster no later than 12:45 pm (you can begin setting up at 12:30 pm)
  • Your poster needs to remain up from 12:45-5:00
  • You will need to be available to answer questions about your poster at your assigned time (contact Hillary Barrett for more information)
  • You need to take down your poster at 5:00 pm.

Room Set-up

All rooms will be equipped with;

  • PC laptop computer
  • Klingenstein and Emerson A will be equipped with a Mac computer in addition to the PC
  • Each of the laptops have the standard faculty/staff image on them.   For information regarding the Faculty/Staff Bundle. Please follow this link   https://www.ithaca.edu/computing/support/icbundle.php
  • The Mac computers will have the standard image plus Mathematica, Sketchpad and Imovie is installed on the laptops
  • Projector and Screen
  • Wireless Internet Access (if needed during your presentation, please bring your presentation on a jump drive rather than downloading it from the internet)
  • DVD player and sound system
  • Podium
  • Student Technicians will be available throughout the day.  They will have contact with CES if a audio/video related problem occurs. The student technician will handle any computer related problems that may occur.
