James B. Pendleton Photography Awards
Award for Project Completion -- Fall 2009
The James B. Pendleton Photography awards are intended to make our strongest photography projects exhibition ready by providing funding for the finishing costs of student's projects.
Guidelines for Applying
- These awards are for projects in 300- and 400-level photography classes.
- The deadline to submit materials for the competitively awarded James B. Pendleton Photography Award will be Monday, November 2, 2009. Submissions are due by 3:00 p.m. on or before that date in Barbara Terrell's office in Park Hall 357.
- There is no application form. In order to be considered you must submit a portfolio of 10 prints that represents your work in progress. Eight-by-ten-inch work prints are acceptable for submission, but keep in mind that the more resolved your prints, the better your chances of securing a grant. Your submission should include a detailed proposed budget, and an artist's statement contextualizing your work.
- Award decisions will be announced on Friday, November 6, 2009.
- As a part of the grant, recipients may receive additional funds to submit one finished, exhibition-ready photo, which will become the property of the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts.
- Receipt of final $100 of award amount is contingent upon submission of a CD documenting work funded by this award. All prints should be in JPEG format, 1000 pixels on their longest axis.
