Ithaca College defines international students as students without U.S. citizenship. This definition does not include U.S. dual citizens, permanent residents with a valid green card, or U.S. citizens living abroad.
How to Apply
Are you an international student?
Step 1: Apply for undergraduate admission via Common App.
Ithaca College waives the application fee for international students. In Common App, select the Institutional Fee Waiver.
When creating your Common App account, pay close attention to your student type :
- Select First Year Student if you are currently enrolled in your final year of secondary school or if you have completed secondary school and have not yet enrolled full time at a higher education institution (college or university).
- Select Transfer Student if you have completed secondary school and earned more than 9 college or university credits.
Step 2: Submit the following supporting materials to Ithaca College.
- The Financial Aid Application in IC Connect. Your application to Ithaca College will not be considered complete and will not be reviewed until you apply or waive consideration for financial aid.
- The first question gives you the opportunity to waive your intent to apply for financial aid.
- You will receive an email with instructions for how to log in to your personal IC Connect account after you submit your Common App.
- An official secondary school transcript that displays courses and grades for all years of secondary school attended. Applicants must also submit official leaving exam results and official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended, if applicable.
- All documents written in a world language must be accompanied by a certified English translation. Please note that both documents are required—the original in your first language and the English translation.
- Letter of recommendation from the principal, school head, or college counselor, sent directly from your school to Ithaca College.
- Proof of English proficiency (see “English proficiency,” below, for additional information).
- SAT or ACT with Writing test results (optional)
Note: Official secondary school transcripts and letter(s) of recommendation must be submitted securely by your high school counselor or other school official using the Common Application or partnering platforms such as Naviance, Scoir, or Parchment. If documents cannot be submitted electronically, they may be sent via postal mail from your school counselor to the Office of Admission. Your secondary school transcript and letter(s) of recommendation will not be official and your application will remain incomplete until we receive all required documents from a school official.
