Choose to concentrate in human performance or mental performance as you pursue your graduate studies. Train on the finest learning, diagnostic, and laboratory equipment. Customize your studies to your personal goals and ambitions with your academic advisor and decide upon a thesis plan or non-thesis plan.
Learn the skills to help people cope with physical, developmental, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. Begin as an undergraduate and continue through to our doctorate program. Or, complete your undergraduate studies in a different major and apply at the graduate level into our masters degree professional-entry level program. You'll have the chance to collaborate with students from our physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, and speech-language pathology and audiology majors while in the program.
We offer two options to pursue your doctorate in physical therapy: Enter as an undergraduate, or enter at the graduate level after completing your bachelor's degree in a different field. In the professional phase of the program, you will be immersed in vital physical therapy and dissection-based anatomy coursework as well as hands-on practice in treatment and exam techniques via diverse clinical rotations.
The Ithaca College PA Program has been granted Accreditation-Provisional status from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). This 27-month-long program is distinctive in its focus on behavioral and mental healthcare in rural settings. The IC PA Program is designed to help students develop the skills and expertise required for success in the PA profession and will include opportunities for students to collaborate with faculty on campus and in a state-of-the-art instructional facility located downtown on the Ithaca Commons.
Select a graduate study track to prepare yourself for a broad clinical career or academic instruction, including initial New York State teaching certification. Immerse yourself in coursework on core content areas such as phonological disorders, swallowing, aphasia, fluency, and augmentative and alternative communication. Practice your skills regularly as you work directly with clients in clinical experiences from your first semester in the program.
