- Speech-Language Pathology
- And a pre-health professions program to explore possibilities before declaring a major
This is a place that shapes the future. Our faculty are recognized leaders in their health sciences or human performance fields. Your experience at Ithaca College will transform you into a knowledgeable professional ready to impact health and well-being across the lifespan. Our graduates contribute to their communities as prepared health practitioners and compassionate advocates for health equity.
The academic experience within HSHP is rich. You will benefit immediately from attentive faculty who care about your academic progress and success. They will support your learning in the classroom and guide your hands-on practice in our state-of-the-art on-campus labs and clinics. You’ll be mentored through research on topics of interest and have opportunities to present your work on campus or at national professional conferences. Our directors of clinical education and internships will support you as you perform independently in a required internship, fieldwork, or clinical placement before graduation to fine-tune your professional skills.
A hallmark experience as an HSHP student outside of the classroom will be your chance to work with other students in different health disciplines. We have an interprofessional clinic at a local assisted living facility, organize collaborative research teams, and host an annual interprofessional case competition. These invaluable experiences will help you practice the realities of working in dynamic teams within the health care field.
More than 90 percent of HSHP graduates successfully find employment in their field or a related field or are accepted into graduate school within one year of graduation. We are proud of the exceptionally high percentage of our graduates who pass national certification and licensure exams in the programs offered through HSHP.
If you’re looking to build the skills to have a meaningful impact on health, human performance, and well-being, I encourage you to learn more about our nationally recognized degree programs. I also strongly encourage you to visit campus to experience the vibe of the HSHP community first-hand. Join us as an undergraduate or graduate student – we will help you realize your goal of a rewarding life-long career in a health or human performance profession.
Sincerely,
Christina Moylan, Ph.D.
