The Alpha Eta Society promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Nominations for Alpha Eta are made by faculty members during the fall of a student's final year of their academic program. Undergraduate students with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for nomination. Graduate students with an overall GPA of 3.8 or better are eligible for nomination. Nominated students are evaluated based on their academic performance, leadership, service, and scholarly activity.

The purpose of the Society shall be the promotion and recognition of significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions.
History of Alpha Eta
Founded in 1975, The Alpha Eta National Honor Society recognizes and promotes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the Allied Health professions at collegiate institutions. Undergraduate and graduate students in their last academic year of enrollment, alumni and faculty meeting the national and chapter qualifications, can be nominated for membership in the Society by members of the local chapter. The Ithaca College Chapter was chartered in March 2009, with the initial members inducted in 2010.
Alpha Eta Nomination and Application Process
Nominations for Alpha Eta are made by faculty members during the fall of a student's final year of their academic program. Each nominated student will be contacted by the Alpha Eta Chapter President notifying them of their nomination and explaining the application process. Please note that only 20% of all eligible students can be inducted into the Ithaca College Chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society.
