THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR MEANS THERE IS A TREMENDOUS VOLUME OF PARCELLS COMING INTO THE MAIL CENTER. ALL PARCELS WILL BE DELIVERED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY ARRIVE. DO NOT COME TO THE MAIL CENTER TO GET A PACKAGE UNLESS YOU RECEIVE AN EMAIL TELLING YOU TO.
The start of the year is always a busy time at the mail center. Some things have changed since last year. Firstly, all letter mail will be distributed at the Pack & Ship center at the Campus Store. You will receive an email directing you to come pick up mail when you receive it. This means letters will be available to pick up the same day they are received and processed. Secondly, we have a new delivery company dropping off packages. Amazon has started directly delivering packages, rather than using standard shipping companies, as they have in the past. This means a few things. Amazon has had many problems figuring where and how to deliver packages on campus. Sometimes the packages are not delivered to the mail center. Sometimes they are left outside after the mail center is closed. The drivers employed also aren't very experienced and they make a lot of mistakes. They also deliver in the afternoon, rather than before 11am like the other parcel companies. This means it is unlikely that you will receive your amazon order in the lockers the same day as they were delivered to the mail center.
