Transfer Credit for Students Who Are New to Ithaca College (First Year and Transfer)

Incoming first year students and transfer students who have taken courses at an accredited college or university should have official transcripts sent to the Office of Admission (admission@ithaca.edu).

Approximately 5–7 business days from the date of acceptance and receipt of official documentation, you should receive an evaluation worksheet via IC Connect.

Ithaca College accepts Advanced Placement Exams, CLEP exams, and International Baccalaureate Exams. Exam results must be sent electronically from the testing agency directly to Ithaca College for credit to be granted. See links below for additional information regarding each transfer source.

Ithaca College also awards credit for A-Level Exams.  Exams must be Advanced Level. No credit will be awarded for Advanced Subsidiary.  Original exam certificate must be brought to the Office of the Registrar.  We will make copies of your original certificates and return the originals to you.

If you took Cambridge Assessment Exams, we can retrieve your test results online instead of having the original certificates. Please provide us with your Cambridge Centre number, Cambridge candidate number, and your date of birth to access your results. This information can be sent to registrar@ithaca.edu

In addition, Ithaca College accepts transfer credit for military coursework.  Please have your official Joint Services transcript sent electronically to Ithaca College. Visit the JST website to make your request:  https://jst.doded.mil/jst/

Only courses with a C- or higher will be evaluated. Credits are transferable; grades are not. All credits are converted into semester credit hours if they are not already so designated. To view the transfer credit policy, please refer to the catalog section entitled Transfer from another Institution, from the link, scroll to the section titled Credit from External Sources

We will remove the credit(s) allowing you to register for the course at Ithaca College. Credit cannot be awarded for the same course twice.

Ithaca College has developed partnerships with select institutions to provide pathways for students to transfer seamlessly from their college or university to IC, or for current IC students to complete additional bachelors or graduate degrees.

Articulation agreements are formal agreements or partnerships between two or more colleges or schools documenting transfer policies that define a pathway from an academic program in one place to the other.
