Leah is a Manager of Employee Experience Design at UnitedHealth Group.
On her first visit to Ithaca College, she learned about the instructional design field and was drawn to the opportunity to help people do better work. Leah majored in Communication Management and Design, with a concentration in Instructional Technologies and minors in Psychology and Art. On campus, she found various outlets for her passions including working in the Technology Learning Center as a Training Specialist, volunteering with various campus organizations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Awareness club and Project Generations, and joining the ski racing team. Off campus, she continued her learning through internships in advertising, learning and development, digital media training, and art therapy, as well as a semester studying abroad in Argentina.
After graduation, Leah worked as an Instructional Design Consultant in the utilities industry, creating a mix of field-based, classroom, and online learning programs to build employee competence and public safety.
Through her inspiring mentors’ guidance and her work in instructional design, Leah uncovered a passion for facilitating design thinking and crafting user-centered experiences. Today, Leah leads the User Experience Design team within UnitedHealth Group’s Enterprise Talent Development and Learning function, supporting career and skills development for over 400,000 employees, so they can help create a healthier world.
