As a CMD major, Lizzie especially enjoyed the blend of logical communications with expressive design, and has continued to pursue that combination—as well as weaving in a minor in Art and a love of the outdoors—through various career moves. After taking a year off to backpack through Europe and live in a van across New Zealand, she brought that love for outdoor adventure to L.L.Bean in Maine, where she worked as an Intranet Designer. Here she both wrote and designed corporate communications and instructional content.
Realizing it was the design side of this role that fit the best, she was able to pivot and find a job as a graphic designer for Naretiv, a design and marketing firm in Rockland, Maine, where she designed print and digital collateral—such as logos, icons, business cards, posters, and magazine layouts—and concepted campaigns for TV and radio.
Wanting to fully commit to a career of design, Lizzie moved to Brooklyn, NY and received her Masters in Communications Design from Pratt Institute. When the pandemic forced classes online, her love of the outdoors called her west, to hiking and skiing in Colorado. Upon completing her MFA, she initially worked as a designer and illustrator for Moxie Sozo, a design agency specializing in packaging for CPG brands. She is currently an Art Director at Fact & Fiction, a Boulder-based advertising and production agency. In this current role, she is responsible for concepts and artistic vision—designing, illustrating, and supervising on photoshoots—for the ad campaigns and social content of brands like AAA, Voodoo Ranger, and Halo Top.
