Shula Adelman is a Training Specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she develops training materials and provides live training for things like Microsoft Teams and Job Description Systems. Alongside work, she is earning a Master's Degree in Learning Technology and Experience Design with a concentration in Games for Learning at NYU Steinhardt.
Her passion for this major developed from an interest in training technology, which was amplified during her senior year in Communication Management and Design. After discovering the field of educational design, however, Shula’s passion shifted quickly and she began taking steps to establish herself within the field. While the position at Sloan Kettering is her first full-time role outside of undergrad, once she finishes her Master's Degree, she plans to seek out employment at educational gaming companies.
While at Ithaca College, Shula loved to take instructional and design classes, so much so that she formed an independent study surrounding training in Virtual Reality with one of her favorite professors. She was a part of Park Promotions, was a Teaching Assistant for Experience Design, and spent a lot of her free time in the Innovation Lab. She was able to network through the help of her professors and landed her first internship at the Glimpse Group during her junior year, in the midst of Covid.
