Lyndzee Walker

As a third-year Park Scholar at Ithaca College, Lyndzee is extremely excited to continue her journey at IC. She wants to continue to engage in the opportunities that the Park Scholar Program has to offer, especially Buzzsaw and the opportunities for networking. She is a Journalism major who plans to create a mental health check-in system for the elderly. While working in a nursing home, Lyndzee developed her passion for working with the elderly. She played cognitive games and engaged in conversations to help exercise their minds while keeping them comfortable. This past summer, Lyndzee volunteered at the Villa Senior Living Community where she helped the elderly with physical challenges. Her involvement included helping with daily walks, going to and from the bathroom, and participating in fitness classes. In the fall, she will work at the McGraw House with Andrew Roberts, Janelle Harris, and John Murillo where she will help the elderly with technology. Last semester, Lyndzee spent her time in London exploring British culture and lifestyle. She enjoyed learning about their youth culture and how music interplays within that while understanding the sports industry and the diverse women who make up British society.
