Hannah is a first-year Documentary Studies and Production major and will be minoring in Deaf Studies. She is excited to be gaining hands-on production experience as a member of The Ithacan’s video section and ICTV’s news section. She is also a member of IC’s club women’s volleyball team, Women in Communications (WIC), BomberTHON, and the Board Games Club. This semester Hannah is working with Finger Lakes ReUse to keep used items out of landfills and give them a second life. While at ReUse, she also helps spread their message about sustainability through social media and video production. Hannah’s goal is to use her skills in media production to lift up the voices of those around her and ensure they are heard. Through broadcast journalism and documentary production, she hopes to tell the stories of those who do not have the platform to do it themselves and to tell their stories in the way they want them to be told. In high school, Hannah worked as the producer for her school’s broadcast news channel and hopes to continue to find outlets for her passion of sharing important unheard stories from her community.
