As a first-year student at Ithaca College, Sierra Gabriel looks forward to being part of a community that provides opportunities that lead to success! In her eyes, success extends beyond campus and spreads across the entire city of Ithaca, as the college emphasizes giving back to the community and achieving collective growth. At her high school, Sierra instilled the same principles and paired them with her passion for sports media. She created and managed athletics media, in which she conducted interviews, posted stats, and created highlight reels that showcased the talent of student athletes at her school. Her dedication and service in this position afforded her the opportunity to direct a short film in the application package of a student athlete and winner of a prestigious recognition awarded by the NY Giants. In the fall semester, Sierra plans is contributing to the growth and success of Ithaca community members by working with students at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School, where she will work every week with them on various art projects. Her passion for youth mentorship stems from volunteering at a Christian sleep-away camp during her summers. She continues to stay true to her passion for sports media through her involvement with The Ithacan, her weekly sportscasts on WICB and VIC radio, and on ICTV's Gridiron Report, Bombers Live, and Next Player Up.
