As a social-justice focused filmmaker, I am inspired by the fact that my work has the potential to make a difference in the world and inspire people to get involved in their communities. During my last three years at Ithaca College I have had the opportunity to work at CBS, intern with the Television Academy (Emmys), and create content for NPR. I was also acknowledged by the College Media Association when I won first place in their annual film festival for The Ithacan news video I made covering the March For Our Lives rally in Ithaca, New York. For my final year, I will work on a PBS documentary and collaborate with other Park Scholars to create pro-bono media content for deserving local organizations as part of our Megaphone service project. Because giving back is an important principle in my life, I also teach film through my organization, Filmmakers for the Future, a no-cost program designed to provide systemically disadvantaged communities access to film education.
