As a PA, I have the ability to advance in my responsibilities by working autonomously, yet collaboratively with a physician, and the adaptability to fit the distinctive needs of any clinical setting regardless of specialty. Learning from my hardships and mentors and being inspired by a supportive community has taught me to be a thoughtful and compassionate provider, and I feel committed to using my education and training to support others and make a meaningful difference in their lives. I love that the program embraces diversity and is welcoming to students of all backgrounds and identities. I chose IC because I think that the program's focus on patient advocacy and leadership is working towards creating inclusive healthcare. I am looking forward to learning what it takes to be a PA. I have had an amazing experience shadowing PAs and I am so excited to be part of this brilliant and compassionate healthcare community. Once grounded in my work, it is a priority for me to seek additional roles beyond my profession, while acting as a leader and educator and finding unique ways to advocate for my community’s health.
