I want to be a PA because I desire a position where I would be responsible for developing treatment plans and prescribing medications for patients and I also value a position that embraces patient communication and education and really puts an emphasis on motivational intervention in producing positive health outcomes for the patients. These are the primary motivating factors for why I chose to become a clinician. Ithaca College has the best reputation for excellence and has been recognized as one of the top colleges and universities in the nation. Regardless of being in the first cohort, which has a substantial risk, I knew that being at such an institution would prepare me with the highest level of education and ultimately allowing me to help patients in their most vulnerable state. I plan on using my patient-clinician background and compose a strong understanding of clinical medicine which will allow me to educate the patient, provide hands-on care, expand on the knowledge I currently obtain, and craft a patient care plan. It will also allow me to make an impact on the lives of others. Furthermore, I plan to self-develop through my education at Ithaca College where I can teach and train upcoming PAs.
