I want to become a PA to be a voice and an open ear for every patient. That means taking the extra time to understand each patient as their own unique being since no two people will ever be identical. Every patient we come into contact with will teach us something, medical or non-medical, and I am excited to start a career where I will always be able to learn and grow. I chose the Ithaca PA Program because they put a special focus on becoming a lifelong learner and my dad has always told me you will learn something from everyone you meet. You are not just a number here, but a learner who is given the skills we need to become caring and compassionate clinicians. I am looking forward to learning from my patients, their families, and my co-workers each and every day the most. Yes, the medicine is cool, but these kinds of interactions will leave a lasting impact on my life and hopefully my patients as well.
