While working and shadowing in healthcare, I observed that many patients in medically underserved communities lack adequate patient care and were not able to gain optimal health. I want to be a PA because I want to be able to provide resources for those who are in medically underserved communities and ensure that they have optimal health. I chose the Ithaca College PA Program because of their emphasis on promoting diversity and mental health, as well as inclusion and equity in the healthcare field. I am looking forward to working on the cadavers in anatomy labs as well as learning and being able to apply what I learned during my rotations. As a future PA, I am looking forward to being an advocate for minorities in the healthcare system and helping to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities.
