Dean O'Dowd provides leadership and overall direction in support of course scheduling, preregistration functions, and student services within the School of Humanities and Sciences. Areas of responsibility include academic advising, academic status, course scheduling, dean’s list recognition, orientation, registration, and graduation. She counsels and advises students on curricular matters regarding courses, major/minor selection, and degree requirements and provides support to faculty advisers. Dean O'Dowd directs specific activities related to grade changes, incompletes, students’ requests for exceptions to policies, grade disputes, petitions for transfer credit/senior credit waivers, waiver/substitutions, graduation problems, adviser assignments, S/D/F requests, enrollment in 18+ credits/part-time study requests, withdrawal/leave of absence, change of major/adviser, study abroad applications, and petitions for transfer credit.
