Here, students like you excel in the classroom, on the field, and far beyond. With 28 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III teams and dozens of club sports and intramural teams, IC offers opportunities for every student.
At IC, our student-athletes are also researchers, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and change-makers. They blend their majors, passions, and hands-on learning experiences to launch bold and impactful careers.
Unlike Division I schools, where broadcasting rights to sporting events are generally exclusive to professional networks, IC gives students opportunities to fill every role, from athlete, sideline reporter, and play-by-play announcer to director, camera operator, and executive producer. You can feel the thrill of the game, whether you’re on the team, behind the camera, or advancing athlete wellness.
We’re proud of our IC family. In fact, you’re likely to hear “Go Bombers” all over campus! The nickname Bombers originated in the 1940s when it was used in radio broadcasts and news articles about IC’s sports teams—and the name stuck.
