Anita Diamond Koss died on February 28, 2014, following a lengthy battle with ALS. Anita grew up in Hicksville, N.Y., a daughter of Bernard and Gabriella Diamond. She was a graduate of Ithaca College where she earned a bachelor’s in Speech and Language Pathology and where she also met her husband, Peter Koss ’83, during freshman orientation in the summer of 1979. Anita and Peter were married in 1985 and had a daughter, Allison, in 1990.
Anita earned her master’s degree from Boston University, and worked as a speech pathologist for more than 25 years in Maine and Connecticut. Her lengthy career was marked by her deep passion for helping children communicate.
Anita and Peter lived in Maine until 2009, when they relocated to Stamford, Connecticut, for Peter's work. But Maine was still home for Anita. She loved skiing, boating, and just spending time with Ally, Peter, family, and friends. Even after Anita was diagnosed with ALS she cared more about others, never complaining about her problems. Anita was blessed with the love of her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
