Vacation Time: Vacation time is accrued based on benefit group, length of service, and average number of scheduled work hours per day for benefits eligible employees. Accruals are also pro-rated based on the employees FTE (full-time equivalent) or percent full-time. More specific information regarding Vacation Time can be found in the policy manual.
Personal Time: All benefits eligible employees are entitled to three times the number of hours in the employee’s average workday. Therefore, an employee who works 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours X 5 days) and works 12 months of the year is entitled to 22.5 hours of personal leave each fiscal year. More specific information regarding Personal Time can be found in the policy manual.
Medical Time: Medical leave is intended to provide the security of continued income when an employee is absent due to illness or injury. The amount of medical leave an employee is granted is based on the average number of scheduled work hours per day and the number of months worked in the fiscal year. More specific information regarding Medical Time can be found in the policy manual.
Bereavement Time: In the event of a death in the immediate family, benefit eligible employees will be paid for up to five days of bereavement leave depending on family member. More specific information regarding Bereavement Time can be found in the policy manual.
Jury Duty Pay: The College recognizes the civic responsibility of its employees to serve on juries or as a subpoenaed court witness. More specific information regarding Jury Duty can be found in the policy manual.
Wellness Days: In recognition of the efforts of benefit-eligible staff we have added the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Summer Restorative Fridays as Wellness Days. Staff will receive paid time off equivalent to the number of regularly scheduled hours for one day of work for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. And for those benefit-eligible staff working during the summer months, they will receive paid time off equivalent to the number of regularly scheduled hours worked on Fridays over the summer and as outlined each year on the Wellness Day schedule. All non-exempt, benefits eligible, biweekly employees who work on a Wellness Day, will be compensated at their regular rate plus receive supplemental hours to use at a later date. These hours will expire four months from the date the hours were earned. Employees who are on medical leave, short term disability, NYS PFL, or workers compensation leave will not have these hours converted to Wellness Day hours. Temporary and part-time workers, who are not benefit-eligible, are not entitled to the Wellness Day benefit. Student employees who work on a Wellness Day will be paid at their regular rate for hours worked. It is a general rule that official summer hours will begin the Friday after Commencement and end two weeks before the beginning of the Fall academic year. A notification will be sent to the campus each year identifying when summer hours will begin and end.
Holiday Time: The holiday schedule is revised and reissued annually. More specific information regarding Holiday Time can be found in the policy manual.
