Victoria Brooks ’21 Relives Her College Years

Over the summer, music education and performance major Victoria Brooks ’21 came back to campus for a week with Carleigh Strange ’21, Nicholas Thompson ’21, MS ’22, and Julianna Cavallo ’21. The four stayed in the same Circle apartment that Brooks had lived in when she was in school at IC. All four were students in the music school, and they all had a fun time visiting the campus again.

The vacation package was part of Ithaca College’s Giving Day 2023. Anyone whomade a gift of $100 or more on that day was entered to win a week’s stay at the Circle Apartments. “It was so special to have the opportunity to come back to IC,” said Brooks. “I never thought I would be living in my college apartment again with my college roommates, so it was such a meaningful experience to return to South Hill.”

Brooks said she thought the opportunity to return to campus would be fun, especially because it offered the chance to go back to the Circle Apartments. She said she wanted to give back to IC on Giving Day and was curious to see the challenges that the college was holding to encourage alumni during that day.

“I was so surprised when I got the email letting me know I was coming back to South Hill!” said Brooks. “This meant so much to me because IC and the Ithaca community are so close to my heart, and it is hard being so far away. I wouldn’t trade my four years at IC for anything, so it was just so amazing to relive it over again, if only just for a week.”

Brooks said she wanted to give to IC because she thinks it is important to help current students have the same experience that she did as an undergraduate and because she wanted to stay involved with her IC family.

“This experience definitely drove home how awesome my alma mater is, and I cannot wait to come back to South Hill in the future,” said Brooks.
