Virtual Reality in the Classroom: Becky Lane - An Ed Tech Day FeaturedSession

By Andrew Hogan, February 19, 2019

On Thursday, March 21st at 1:10 pm in the Klingenstein Lounge, filmmaker, and 'Immersive Media Explorer' Becky Lane will spearhead a discussion on how Virtual Reality (VR) has been touted as a game-changer in education, and question if it is living up to the hype.  This session explores the state of virtual and augmented reality in 2019 and shows how educators can leverage emerging technologies to improve learning, enhance comprehension, and increase empathy.  Best practices, caveats, current research and how to get started will all be discussed.

This is one of over 50 sessions that are part of our 29th annual Educational Technology Day at Ithaca College on Thursday, March 21st from 9 am to 3 pm in the Campus Center.  No registration is required for members of the Ithaca College community.  Complete information is available on the Ed Tech Day website:  www.ithaca.edu/edtechday.

Please watch Intercom for additional announcements about ways in which you can be a part of the day, and for details on many of the seminars and other featured events.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Information Technology Ed Tech Day team at edtechday@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-7000.  We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
