Over break, Dr. Ellen J. Staurowsky, professor of sports media, was an invited panelist in the Strategic and Purposeful Athletics and Race Colloquy on the topic of What You Need to Know: Insights on Rights, Racism, and Revenues in Collegiate Sports. This program was moderated by Dr. Debby Stroman, director, Center of Sport Business Analytics, and included Dr. Lori Martin, professor, sociology and African & American Studies and Faculty Athletics Representative, Louisiana State University.
Dr. Staurowsky also presented at the Centennial Conference Snell-Shillingford Symposium, which was started in 1999 to encourage women undergraduates to enter the field of coaching. The title of her presentation on Sunday, January 10, 2021 was Rising Up and Rising Above: Women in Sport in the Time of COVID”.
