Dining de-densified!

By Rebecca Sexton, February 1, 2021

The health and well-being of our students is always the primary focus of Ithaca College Dining Services. We know that some of the protocols that have been put in place to help mitigate crowding and de-densify dining locations have resulted in extended wait times in certain situations, and we would like to work together with you to help improve your dining experience.

First, we wanted to let you know that we will be opening Towers Marketplace a day earlier than originally planned, which should help ease the crunch just ahead of the first day of on-campus instruction. Our introduction of Grubhub this past year for pre-ordering at retail dining locations will also help reduce your time waiting in lines.

Protocols such as the elimination of self-serve, and single entrances and exits, are necessary to ensure that guests are physically distanced while dining on campus.

This is in keeping with both New York State regulations and best practices for public health during the COVID pandemic. To help reduce wait times, we suggest that guests be especially mindful of specific locations and times that experience very high traffic volume: Campus Center DH at lunchtime; and Terrace Dining Hall during dinner. We strongly encourage individuals to review Dining’s hours of operation and visit alternative dining locations during busy times.

Meet the new food app on campus. Grubhub! Pre-order and pick up. Fast, safe service.

The Grubhub app allows individuals to pre-order and pick-up orders from campus retail dining locations. It’s fast, convenient, and a safe way to get grub without waiting in long lines. Purchase food with Bomber Bucks, ID Express, or any other card! There is no additional fee to use the Grubhub app. The IC Food Court and Ithaca Bakery are open and taking Grubhub pre-orders. Chick-N-Bap opens today, Monday, Feb. 1st, and Towers Marketplace will open its doors on Sunday, Feb. 7th. All orders must be placed through the Grubhub app; retail dining locations cannot accept any in-person orders. So, download the app, pre-order, and get your grub fast.

Towers Marketplace - Opening Sunday, Feb. 7th

Towers Marketplace will open its doors on Sunday, Feb. 7th, from 5 pm – 10 pm to provide students an additional night-time dining option and help de-densify dining spaces. It’s easy, pre-order and pick-up your meal through the campus Grubhub app. Forget your smartphone? No worries, place your order at the on-site kiosk. Use Bomber Bucks, ID Express, or any other card to make purchases. Towers Marketplace, a 5-minute walk from Campus Center - help de-densify dining spaces this Spring!
