Dr. Christopher House, associate professor in the Department of Communication Studies, has been named a 2021-2023 Hooks Academic Research Fellow at The Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis.

Hooks Institute for Social Change promotes its mission of studying and promoting civil rights and social change through teaching, research, innovative campaigns, and community engagement. For more than twenty years, the Hooks Institute has developed an impressive track record of educating, engaging and empowering the community.
Dr. House’s appointment as a Hooks Fellow is a signal accomplishment. Dr. House was selected in the inaugural cohort of fellows not only because of his widely recognized scholarship at the intersection of race, religion, and rhetoric, but also for his commitment to social change.
