Maximum Credit Load: Students are limited to four credits of classroom instruction during the May session and up to six credits during each five-week summer session, but may not to exceed 11-credit hours total.

Students may participate in an internship or an independent study (in addition to the 11-credit maximum noted above), so long as they do not register for more than a cumulative total of 15-credits during the summer.

Note: HomerConnect cannot enforce this policy. If registration exceeds these limits, students will be asked to change their schedule. If the student does not change their schedule they will be administratively dropped from the excess credits by removing the last class registered for.

What if a class is closed?  Summer classes do NOT have waitlist or a capacity override option. The summer 2021 course are set with the maximum capacity, but additional sections and courses may be added to meet demand. Please check back for seats often up until the first day of classes in the summer sessions.

How much are summer courses? Summer sessions 2021 undergraduate tuition is $500 per credit. This initiative intends to make supplemental summer coursework available and affordable to undergraduate students whose spring semester may have been impacted by the pandemic and who may now find themselves behind with degree progress.

Continuing (not graduating May 2021 or before) matriculated (admitted into a bachelor's degree program at IC) undergraduate students who were enrolled full-time in fall 2020 and/or spring 2021 at IC degree may be eligible for three credits of summer 2021 tuition. Visit the Free Credit FAQ website to see if you're eligible.

Undergraduate OT/PT summer tuition rates are tied to students' twelve-month program costs. Review the free credit FAQ for the summer 2021 OT/PT courses that qualify.
