Learning Management System - Implementation Update #2

Greetings Campus Community, 

Members of the LMS Governance Committee have reviewed an initial pilot plan and are making final revisions based on feedback. The plan will be shared with the campus community later this week via Intercom and the project website:  https://www.ithaca.edu/lmsproject. We will share the final plan along with a detailed list of expectations and participation opportunities.  

The implementation of Canvas has been mapped out into four phases: Phase One – Vision/Planning, Phase Two – Initial Implementation & Exploration, Phase Three – Full Implementation, and Phase Four - Review & Refinement (ongoing).  Details on the phased implementation along with the expected timeframe for each phase can be viewed on the project website. 

The technical implementation teams have met with our vendor, Instructure, to go over project management and change management steps. Members of IT are setting up access to our IC Canvas instance. Staff from the Center for Faculty Excellence, Learning & Innovative Technology, Student Accessibility Services, along with members of the LMS Governance Committee, are exploring the Canvas environment including processes for designing blueprints and reviewing supporting documentation.
