An in-depth study of the scope of Recreation Therapy/Therapeutic Recreation (RT/TR). Students study the historical and philosophical foundations of the profession. The role of therapeutic recreation professionals in the spectrum of healthcare and human service settings serving clients with a variety of disabilities is explored. Students will participate in field experience activities, interact with professionals in the field, and engage in a variety or learning modalities throughout the course.
