Elena Chang, a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major at Ithaca College, has been selected to progress to the national finals in the Washington Media Scholars Media Plan Case Competition!
After a double-blind review of submissions in the qualifying round of the contest against students from across the country, the top 22 teams were chosen to contend in the semi-final round. All five Ithaca College IMC teams who entered were selected as semi-finalists. Elena and her teammate (Yanelis Wesley, a student at Penn State University) then created a media plan that was reviewed by an expert panel of judges and chosen as one of the best in the nation. The team was one of only six selected to advance to compete this summer for the National Excellence in Media Award and $18,500 in scholarships. The finalist teams have also earned a week of networking and training with media professionals from organizations such as POLITICO, Google, iHeart Media, and The Washington Post. The final competition will take place at the end of the week, on June 10, and will be attended by Elena and her competition advisor, Professor Lisa Farman.
Congratulations to Elena. Good luck in the final round!
