Jack Wang, associate professor in the Department of Writing, received the Danuta Gleed Literary Award from the Writers' Union of Canada for his story collection, We Two Alone. The award recognizes the best debut collection published by a Canadian author in English in 2020.
Wang was awarded the first prize of $10,000 CAD. The runners-up were Kaie Kellough for Dominoes at the Crossroads and Souvankham Thammavongsa for How to Pronounce Knife, who each received a prize of $1000 CAD.
The US edition of We Two Alone (pictured) will be published on June 8, 2021. The virtual launch will take place at 7:00 pm next Tuesday through Buffalo Street Books. You can register for the event here.
