Associate Provost for Graduate and Professional Studies
Description: This individual will oversee graduate and professional studies academic program planning, assessment, and review in collaboration with relevant offices, faculty committees, deans, and department chairs across campus. Additional responsibilities include providing oversight for the Summer College program, the Office of Extended Studies and providing guidance to the Chair of Graduate Council. This individual will work in collaboration with the Registrar, MES, and Finance & Administration to employ strategic approaches to graduate program marketing and to recommend appropriate graduate program pricing. This individual will help ensure that our graduate students have a consistent, cohesive, graduate school experience.
Qualifications: Current member of the Ithaca College faculty or staff who is appointed for a three-year, 12 month term (renewable upon mutual agreement of the individual and the Provost). An earned terminal degree; extensive academic and administrative experience at the college or university level; demonstrated experience as a graduate faculty member and advisor, experience with policy development; extensive knowledge of best practices, current issues, and future trends in graduate education; familiarity with curriculum development and program assessment, proven ability to provide leadership in a culture that values collegial decision-making and effective cross-campus collaboration; ability to work successfully with diverse individuals and groups and the ability to represent the College effectively with internal and external constituencies; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
