Retired Professor Gwen Seaquist, School of Business, recently authored a new textbook entitled "Introduction to Employment Law" for Zovio Publishing.
The text covers employer-employee relationships, their creation and the resulting legal rights and duties that arise from the relationship. The book discusses how to handle discrimination claims, preventative measures and the establishment of policies that foster an equitable work environment. The book ends with two chapters on labor law, including the formation of unions, and the rights of both employers and unions under the National Labor Relations Act and a resulting collective bargaining agreement. This is the fourth law textbook Professor Seaquist has authored and published.
