The Foreword introduces a new digital version of Surendra Bhana’s 1975 classic book The United States and the Development of the Puerto Rico Status Questions, 1936 – 1968 (University of Kansas Press). The digital project is part of the Humanities Open Book grant program led by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
