We are so excited to welcome back our students for Fall 2021! This year, First Bomber Weekend and Sophomore Experience will be combining their efforts to create a cohesive Fall Welcome.
Fall Welcome will take place from August 22nd - September 6th. There will be some events that are open to all students, and some events that are only open to students from specific years, to create a custom experience for those who did not get to experience in person orientation last year.
First Bomber Weekend will continue with some traditional events this year, such as the Farmer’s Market and a Hike and Swim event.
In May, New Student and Transition Programs sent out a survey to the rising sophomore class asking for feedback on programs students would like to see at the beginning of the semester. Thank you to our rising sophomores for participating in this survey, we had nearly 50% of the sophomore class respond!
Survey data showed us that sophomores are interested in events that help them get introduced to the campus and resources that are available to them, get to know and connect with other students, and get to learn about the Ithaca Community. The planning committee comprised of faculty, staff, and student representatives has been working to plan events based on responses.
