Jack Wang, associate professor in the Department of Writing, has received a $25,000 CAD Research and Creation grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to support work on his novel THE RIVETERS from August 15th, 2021 to August 15, 2022, which coincides with his sabbatical.
THE RIVETERS is a work of literary fiction about Chinese Canadians who served in shipyards and various branches of the military during the Second World War to earn citizenship and the franchise. Upon completion, the novel will be published by House of Anansi Press in Canada and HarperVia, an imprint of HarperCollins, in the US, UK, and Australia/New Zealand.
