Information Technology is excited to announce that Zoom has released a new feature that allows individuals to add pronouns to their user profile and selectively share them during meetings and webinars. Effective Friday, August 20, 2021, the Pronouns feature will be enabled for all Ithaca College Zoom accounts.
How will this impact me?
Effective Friday, August 20, 2021, the next time you log in to ithaca.zoom.us you will have the ability to edit your profile and add your pronouns.
How does it work?
If you add pronouns to your profile, they will become visible to your Zoom contacts as part of your Zoom profile card in the Zoom desktop client (5.7.0 or higher) and mobile app (5.7.0 or higher). Once added, you can choose your preferred setting for when and if your pronouns are shown during a meeting or webinar (Always share in meetings and webinars, Ask me every time after joining meetings and webinars, or Do not share in meetings and webinars). At any point during a meeting or webinar, you may choose to share or unshare pronouns under the Participants button. Note that when participating in a webinar as an attendee, attendees’ pronouns are never visible, only webinar hosts and panelists can share pronouns in a webinar.
